Context

After World War II, Robert G. LeTourneau opened a large manufacturing plant for his "Tree Crusher." This gigantic vehicle rolls over any landscape and forests. It weighs 175 tons, requires two V12 diesel Cummins engines to deliver over 1400hp, and the largest tires in the world (pictured). The tires were produced on special order for LeTourneau by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
