Printed on verso: "Views in and Around San Antonio, / by Doerr & Jacobson, Photographers. / Mission Concepcion de la Purissima de Acuna. / Exterior. (First Mission). Interior. / Immaculate conception de Acuna, from Juan de Acuna, Marquis of Casa Fuerta, viceroy in 1722; this in a tolerably good state of preservation, is situated the left bank of the river about two miles below the city. The foundation stone was laid March 5th, 1781 by Captain Perez and Father Bergara; it was never very prosperous and had been discontinued as a mission parish when visited by Pike in 1807.” Stamped in purple on verso, “H. A. Doer / Photographer / San Antonio, Tex.”
