Context

Carrying Franklin D. Roosevelt on his Presidential Cruise, the USS Houston anchored off Kailua two hours into the morning watch on July 24, 1934, and the President and his guests got in considerable fishing, all engaged returning on board “tired and very sun-burned”, the same day Captain Walker used this cover. Two days later, the flagship steamed to Honolulu, where this cover was mailed.
