The building is in a general romanesque style by the supervising architect James H. Windrim and completed in 1892. In 1938 this building once housed the U.S. Post Office, U.S Customs Office, U.S. District Court, and the U.S. Weather Bureau.Context
Photograph of the El Paso Federal Courthouse. The park in view in front of the courthouse is the San Jacinto Plaza. Built in 1892, the courthouse served as the U.S. Circuit Court for the Western District of Texas (1892-1911) and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas (1892-1936). The building was razed in 1936.
