The Silver King Saloon was located on Military Plaza in San Antonio. Early mentions of its notoriety as a violent gambling den with the occasional shoot-out appear in newspapers as early as 1888, but by 1898, newspapers touted the Silver King Saloon and Art Gallery as a gentlemen's resort. The saloon is mentioned in newspapers as early as 1888, and was known to have been open for at least 25 years.Category
