Kate and “Jack” Butterfield are grandchildren of John M. Carolan, a mayor of San Antonio from 1854 to 1855 and Jack’s namesake. Jack was born in 1878 and died in 1972. He was a noted historian and some of his writings included “The Free State of Bejar,” “Clara Driscoll Rescued the Alamo—A Brief Biography,” "Men of Alamo, Goliad, and San Jacinto,” etc.Category
