Description

Original in superb condition. Dates approximately to between 1740 and 1770. Worn by Spanish Militia and colonials, and these buttons were very popular and often traded amongst American, British, and French colonists. Recovered near St. Augustine, Florida by a former colleague. It is little known, but the Spanish were involved in the Revolutionary War. Partially cleaned and conserved this fine example leaving some of the original oxidation on the reverse (some collectors like a little left). Size is: 12.59mm
