Government of Texas Marine Corps [Pouch Plate - "S"]
Description
A pouch plate with a five-pointed star above a straight fouled anchor. Above the anchor is "TEXAS" and below the anchor is "MARINE CORPS." An "S" flanks both sides of the anchor. Die-cast and made of copper.
Context
This pouch plate was made to be worn by an enlisted Texas Marine, and believed to have been manufactured of scrap copper pieces used to sheath the Texas Navy ships in the Algiers Shipyard, New Orleans, Louisiana.
