A belt buckle with a five-pointed star above a straight fouled anchor. Engraved above the anchor is "TEXAS" and engraved below the anchor is "MARINE CORPS." Cross hatched along the border to resemble rope. Hand fabricated and made of coin silver.
Context
Texas' outsized identity was formed during the Texas Revolution. This belt buckle was made to be worn by a Texas Marine Corps officer, and believed to have been handmade of melted silver coins and/or scrap silver pieces in Quintana, Texas.
