A shoulder plate with a straight fouled anchor. Above the anchor is "TEXAS" and below the anchor is "MARINE CORPS." Die-struck and made of coin silver.
This piece is missing the five-pointed star above the anchor.
Context
This shoulder plate was made to be worn by a Texas Marine Corps officer, and believed to have been manufactured of melted silver coins and/or scrap silver pieces in the Algiers Shipyard, New Orleans, Louisiana.
