A belt buckle with a canted fouled anchor. Above the anchor is "TEXAS" and below the anchor is "NAVY." Cross hatched along the border to resemble rope. Hand fabricated and made of coin silver.
This piece is missing the five-pointed star above the anchor.
Context
Texas' outsized identity was formed during the Texas Revolution. This belt buckle was made to be worn by a Texas Navy Warrant Officer, and believed to have been handmade of melted silver coins and/or scrap silver pieces in Quintana, Texas.
