Boston (manufacturer) lamp with "Pollard press". The Pollard press was designed by Edward Pollard in an effort to evade infringement of the Edison patents by avoiding the use of platinum wire entering the lamp through the "press". The Pollard design used trails of powdered silver with iron wire on either end to pass current into the lamp.Made/Created
