Maxim lamp with early threaded stud base. This base form was one of a few attempts at a lamp attachment method for the Maxim lamp. The majority of Maxim lamps were not fitted with bases but rather used lamp holders (sockets) that mechanically gripped the glass envelope and made contact with terminals on the lamp for current delivery.
