Edison incandescent lamp of the period of about 1884-1885. Carbonized bamboo filament attached with the copper plating method, as developed by Edison in 1881. 16 candlepower lamp with secondary candlepower rating label. Lead wires in stem insulated with maroon colored woven insualtion. This inuslation was intended to extend past the glass envelope, and prevent one lead wire from shorting with the cewnter contact while en route to the top of the threaded shell.Made/Created
