Description

Standing, wooden phonograph and phonograph cabinet. The wood has been finished and painted in vernis martin on all sides. The painted scenes are either floral or pastoral in nature with female and male figures standing and/or sitting in natural setting wearing Renaissance-style clothing. The scenes either have the couple dancing or the man playing a musical instrument. The front of the cabinet that has two compartments that each have 2 doors. Inside the top compartment are 3 shelves. Inside the bottom compartment is one shelf and 4 compartments that hold lettered phonograph albums (16 total). The phonograph also opens at the very top with a horizontally hinged door to reveal the phonograph turntable. There is a removable crank arm that fits into a small hole on the viewer's right side of the phonograph.
