From auction listing:
An interesting Haggadah that combines direct reference to the events of the Holocaust as a continuation of the enslavement of Egypt, both in the paintings that accompany it and in the text. The painting that accompanies 'Vehi SheAmda' begins with an Egyptian beating a Jew with a whip, continues with the Inquisition, and ends with an SS soldier. Later under the heading: 'Remembrance Ceremony' (with instructions to perform it before the door is opened to the prophet Elijah), an interesting text appears that relates entirely to the memory of the Holocaust. "On this Seder night we remember the six million who perished in the Holocaust, more than Pharaoh killed in Egypt." Later there is a mention of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising with a somewhat exaggerated reference: "On the first day of Pesach, the remnants in the Warsaw Ghetto rose up against the enemy as in the days of Judas Maccabeaus... and they brought redemption to the people of Israel..." Then an instruction appears to sing the Ghetto Song and 'I Believe.' Among the songs that appear at the end of the Haggadah are songs related to the Holocaust: 'In the Warsaw Ghetto in the Month of Nissan,' which describes Seder night in the ghetto under the feeling of terror and fear, and how SS soldiers break into a Jewish house in the middle of Seder night. The 'Partisan Anthem' appears, as well as 'Zag Maran' which describes a devotion of Jews who prepare matzah in a tunnel under the terror of the Nazis, and more. Some of the songs even had musical notes attached.Made/Created
