Description

The cup was originally made in the late 17th or early 18th century, and an engraving was added later, probably in the 19th century. In addition to a circumcision scene, the cup is engraved with "Cup of Blessing" (large text in the middle); "This cup, I bought myself, the humble Zeligman Ettling, for Good Deeds" (small text on rim); and "And not for any retribution, but to honor the Almighty and His Torah" (small text on bottom). Made by T. Kuntze (1683-1724) and hallmarked "Breslav."
