Description

Cases for phylacteries for the hand and head. One cube is labeled Shel Yad ("for the hand"); the other is labeled She-Rosh ("for the head"). These silver cubes are for holding the parchment sheets inscribed with the verses Exodus 13:1-10 and 11-16 and Deuteronomy 6: 4-9, 11, and 13-21. Each side of these cubes has a pair of rampant lions supporting a crowned cartouche with the Hebrew letter "shin."
