A MONUMENTAL AND RARE SABBATH WALL SCONCE BY THE BEZALEL SCHOOL. Jerusalem – British Mandate Palestine, c. 1915. The base is hand chased with the scene from Rachel’s Tomb. Fitted with four original candle holders. The mid-section is chased with poppy buds, Bezalel – Jerusalem in Hebrew, grapevine and flowing art nouveau designs as well as a stylized menorah. The upper portion of the outer rim is chased with beading design and topped with the Decalogue. 23” tall.Made/Created
