Artist autobiography from Pomegranate Collection:
"After many years as a calligrapher and graphic designer, I was asked to paint on an existing synagogue chupah (wedding canopy). My love affair with fabrics began at that moment and continues to this day.
I start with the most luscious fabrics I can find, combine them with wonderful ribbons, trims, and braids, sew them into Tallitot (prayer shawls), Torah mantles, chupot, challah covers or other Judaic textiles, and enhance them with painted or appliquéd calligraphic texts. All these elements seem to transcend themselves and form a whole that imbues a spiritual quality. I am blessed and constantly amazed that the work of my hands allows others to feel more of their Jewish selves. I am deeply thankful that what I absolutely love creating is coveted by others.
Examples of my art can be seen in museum collections and synagogues throughout the world as well as in the homes and on the shoulders of young and old."Made/Created
