Description

Mordechai seated atop horse. Hebrew dedications from Book of Esther on horse's saddle. On left side, beginning at front of horse's saddle: "In a fortress Shushan lived a Jew by the name of Mordecai, son of Jair son of Shimei son of Kish, a Benjaminite." (Esther 2:5) On right side: "So Haman took the garb and the horse and arrayed Mordecai and paraded him through the city square; and he proclaimed before him: 'This is what is done for the man whom the king desires to honor!'"
