Description

Circular plate depicting Aaron wearing breastplate. From Moriah: "It is a Jewish ritual to redeem the first born son. In France the payment is made in three coins: Moses, Aaron and David. Probably for this purpose, the French minted bronze medals depicting these three characters--which probably is the inspiration for this plate's decoration." Inscription, "Aaron the High Priest."
