Description

Decorated with flowers and plants\ A rare and important crown for a Torah scroll. Bohemia or Moravia, 18th century. Silver mark stamped, embossed, and engraved; gilding. A crown with an oval base and three arms. The two outer arms are adorned with floral patterns and a gilded belt. The central arm and base of the crown are also gilded. Stylish floral and leaf decorations are placed above the base and cover the arm joints. The design of the crown was apparently influenced by the shape of the crown of the Austrian emperors which was created in Prague in 1602.
