With an introduction by Oluf Gerhard Tychsen (1734–1815), the Prussian Hebraist, lecturer, numismatist, paleographer, translator, and theologian; a member of the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences. Tychsen was well versed in rabbinic literature and is reputedly the only non-Jew in history who, by his own account, held a certificate of ordination to the title “Chaver” (see: Shmuel Feiner, A New Era: Jews in Europe in the Eighteenth Century, 1750–1800, p. 160).
With [8] pages at the end of the book titled “Supplement, ” including the text of a get (bill of divorce), a deed authorizing an agent of the husband, and a deed of refusal (mi’un). Includes a pictorial plate with illustrations of the ḥalitzah shoe. The book is rarely found complete. Collation: [7], 176, [8] pages, plus [1] illustrated plate. 16.5 cm.Made/Created
