Idaho Falls Broadway Bridge with craneDescription
This photo is black and white and shows the Broadway Bridge, the falls, and the crane that is trying to dislodge the debris underneath the bridge. This photo shows one of the attempts that was made to protect the bridge from damage. There was a lot of debris lodged underneath the bridge and it was beginning to make the bridge sway. The people in Idaho Falls believed that if they could removed the debris, they could save the bridge. Their first attempt was to remove the debris with a crane. However, there was so much debris and water that this was futile. The people then tried to blow up the retaining wall. When this didn't work they built a trench to divert the water around the bridge. This photo is in a black frame with a white border around the photo. This photo is on display in the flood room in the museum. This photo is 28 x 37 inches big.
