Description

Golden Living Center. Note reads: On June 5, 1976 approximately 50 residents were living at the Golden Living Center when news of the flood came. The building has heavy steel doors and damage to the inside was minimal with the exception of carpet. The water left a very muddy water line approximately 4' up on the building, which had to be cleaned off, several times, with a special high pressure brick cleaner. The grounds had just been planted and groomed with new shrubs and bark placed in the gardens. Shrubs were torn out of the ground and the bark washed away. Twelve workers were used from 12 to 16 hours a day for 2 1/2 weeks before we could open again for business.
