Teton Dam Scrapbook Pioneer AudioDescription
Pioneer Audio note reads:
On the 3rd of June 1976, we had just completely remodeled our Pioneer Audio Store in Rexburg, we had bought the building several months before and after spending nearly $35,000 on the interior had finally completed a giant task, and felt good about the whole thing. It was a beautiful Audio center, and we breathed a sigh of relief that it was completed and our efforts were well rewarded.
Can you believe the shock we had entering our beautiful building on June 6, the entire floor had sunk to the basement. Our special new expensive inventory was mixed with mud and the contents of the basement in our stinking grimy mess. It was a sight to try the sanity of strong men.
Clean-up was the first step of course. It involved many man hours to get rid of the grime. We had to completely tear out everything to the rock walls that contained the building, for many years. The whole inside had to be rebuilt, floor and everything.
The front entryway had to be completely gutted also, and we had to start from the walls out. We had to add new front windows, shutters, extend our overhand, new door and frames for windows and doors. New sidewalks were in order at that time also.
Everything was new and we hope we will never in this lifetime have to remodel again. WE'VE ABOUT HAD IT WITH REMODELING!
