Teton Dam Scrapbook Upper Valley Electric

Description

Upper Valley Electric note reads: When access to Upper Valley Electric was finally possible after a week of being surrounded by water, our business was about 1/2 block from the Teton River, the men from Upper Valley Electric, out of town volunteers and farmers who had motors buried in debris, began removing the damage the flood had caused. This included all shop equipment; office supplies, dead animals, mud, logs, and almost everything found in barn yards. The water line inside was measured at 13 feet. When the back steel doors were broke open and with the front door missing, the flood waters flowed through the shop like water under a bridge. It took a little over a month before business could resume, not normally, but with the help of out of state suppliers all equipment ordered was put on a priority knowing the dilema the flood had put on Upper Valley Electric, and the many people who would need Electric help soon. It wasn't long before everything needed was in and business resumed. All doors, windows, frames, asphalt, and soil around the building had to be replaced on the outside.
