Dead Animals & DebrisDescription
This B&W photo shows three dead animals in the road. The animal on the far left looks like a horse. The animal next to it looks like a calf. At a small distance from the 1st two animals, and a little closer to the camera is a light-colored cow, a female, as her udders are visible. All three animals are very stiff and look slightly bloated. Behind them in the road is a large log. At the middle of the phot is a telephone pole (undamaged). There are more logs to the right in the yard of a house which can be seen to the right. Farm buildings and other structures are in the background behind a small line of trees. On the reverse side of the photo are notes from the workers at the Standard Journal: "Standard. Not a pretty sight. 190% (crossed out) 225% (also crossed out), 190 (crossed out again) 90% (Circled) 100% (upside down & crossed out), 14,000, B-2 & 4 (upside down & crossed out). I've scanned the back of the photo as well. This photo is 5x7". This photo comes from the old Standard Journal Warehouse located at 23 S 1st E.
