BOUND FOR A MUSEUM - The Thirty-ninth street "dinkey" which carried passengers for nearly thirty years from Thirty-ninth and Main streets to Adams street in Kansas City, Kansas, was officially presented yesterday to the Museum of Transport, St. Louis. Officials of the Kansas City Public Service company and the museum were present at the Tenth and Lister shops for the brief ceremony. Shopmen who serviced and repaired the Birney Safety car, as it was called when first used in 1919, took time off from work to witness the presentation. The trolley will be moved on a flatcar to St. Louis, Dr. John P. Roberts, director of the museum, said. The Dinkeys, of which the company once had eighty-nine, are double end cars. They have brake and power controls at both ends - (Kansas City Star photograph). (Story on page 6)Language
