R. J. STONE, Vice President of Operations of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, recently presented a historic locomotive No. 1522, of the 4-8-2 mountain type, to the National Museum of Transport in St. Louis. The gift was received by Museum Board Chairman A. K. Atkinson. This oil burning locomotive was built in May, 1926 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and was designed for the heavier passenger trains coming into use.
