"Since early childhood I have been fascinated by making things with needle and thread. For many years this interest was channeled into home sewing and needlework; nothing was bought that could be made. In 1982, I took a quilting class and I was hooked. This quilt was made in tribute to my father's long-time passion for sailing. It features a Mariner's Compass center on a dark blue ground, surrounded by four Safe Harbor corner blocks and a border of Lost Ships. This is framed by a second Sawtooth edged border, and finally by an outer border repeating the compass theme in more subdued colors."
