In 2001 the United States Postal Service issued as part of its “American Treasures” series a set of stamps featuring quilts from the Esprit Collection. Not only did appearance on a stamp solidify Amish quilts’ iconic status, but it also publicly announced that they were “treasures” worth preserving.
