“Avatar Revisited is a whole cloth black cotton sateen quilt,” writes Judy Woodworth. “It took me approximately four months to work on the design, a week or two to transfer it to the black sateen, four to five weeks to quilt, and a week to do the binding using the ladder stitch."
“The original pattern was designed in 1/8 miniature and drawn with a mechanical pencil. After it was perfected over the months, I copied this drawing, and saved a second copy so that it could be mirror imaged. When put together it became 1/4 of the design. I transferred an enlarged copy to black cotton sateen fabric, using a light box, and marking with Fons and Porter mechanical pencils."
