"I have been quilting for 35 years now. This project took nearly four years from design to completion. I created my favorite English garden in the center and the Cotswold Lake District around it. I used perspective to create the surrounding scenery and cutely appliquéd small houses and embroidered sheep. It was fun thinking about which animals to put in the natural environment. However, embroidering 85 sheep and 21 hares was very difficult and troublesome. The work took a long time to complete, but I am very happy to have received such a prestigious award."
