From Jessie's husband, James (Jim) Harrison, 2006:
Jessie had a long-time interest in needlework. She did it all: knitting, tatting, knitted lace, wearables, embroidery, cross stitch, and quilting. After her children had grown, Jessie finished a degree in mathematics and joined the workforce as a computer specialist in the aerospace field. She also had a long-time interest in miniature things which led to a small business for which she made miniature garments and house furnishings. It was entirely predictable that she would merge her interest in miniatures with her interest in quilting and she used her computer skills freely to evaluate designs and make detailed layouts of her quilts.
