"This quilt is based on a house pattern developed by Mountain Mist Batting Company, but my use of the design was influenced by the area in which I live. Brown County, Indiana is heavily wooded and its hilly countryside is dotted with little log cabins. This beautiful place has been home to many artists since the early part of this century. In my quilt, the geometric quality of the blocks and lattice strips is softened by wavy lines of quilting. The border quilting echoes the little mountains and rolling hills of Brown County, and the edging of pine-tree points (a variation on Prairie Points I worked out) represents the deep green woods that surround us here in the county."
