My inspiration for my Roaring Twenties quilt was the "flapper" girl. When I think of the 1920's, I immediately think of the fashions that were being worn at the time as my sewing work is primarily in fashion. I think of loose silhouettes, feathers, pearls, and the fashionable "it" girls or "flappers" and the fabulous parties they attended. I wanted to see if I could use the traditional four patch quilt block to render the image of one of these fabulous flapper girls. The quilt is 100% four patch consisting of approximately 4,000 individual cut fabric squares, with a heat transfer vinyl overlay and Swarovski crystal embellishments. The quilt is quilted with hand tied knots with pearl embellishments.
