“While drawing the design for this quilt I knew the name would be ‘Daisy Chain’. However, during the process of cutting and stitching 108 tiny yellow flowers with 1/8” purple centers I jokingly began referring to it as ‘Death by Daisy’. Creating miniature quilts like these are aided by utilizing small embroidery scissors, tweezers and lots of patience. The flower fabrics are hand dyes and batiks, and the background fabrics are Oakshott cottons. The green chain is 30wt. silk and the applique edge stitching and free motion quilting are 100 wt. silk. All of the stitching and quilting was completed on my 24 year old Bernina.”
