One day Dorothy's husband came home with some quilt books belonging to one of his co-workers. He thought the quilts in the books were "something else." To appease him, Dot, as she was known, began looking through one of them. She kept looking and looking and was amazed at what she saw. So she decided to make quilts.
Dot would never let anyone see what she was currently working on. That way, no on else would start working on that same pattern.
She loved genealogy and the old quilts, and that's what she wanted to do--pass on the old patterns and designs so people can know and love them as she did.
