"I was born to sew and quilt. Quiltmaking is the creative outlet to explore the endless design and color ideas I have, to experiment with and learn from as my ideas grow." "It's more than just the design and the color; the hand quilting soothes my soul and frees my mind." "Over the decades I have achieved recognition and numerous awards, which validate my quilts; however, my greatest achievements in quiltmaking are the many friends that I have made along the way and knowing that my children and grandchildren sleep under quilts stitched with love, just the way I did when I was a child."

"I grew up in Kansas with the warmth and security of sleeping under quilts made by my grandmother," recalls Becky. "At age eight, she invited me to join her at the quilting frame. There was never a suggestion that quilting was something one learned; it was simply something one did. So before my first child was born in 1969, I came to realize that this was the avenue of artistic expression that offered a satisfaction I had never known." "As the years passed, my interest in quilting and design progressed. At last, I found the way to release the silent voice within me, blend it with basic skills, and like my grandmothers, leave it as my gift to the future."
