"Paul's quilts reflect his many facets - complex, accomplished, fashionable, entertaining - and are as fresh today as when he made them. He was about saving the efforts of others, no matter how humble. By incorporating pieces of unfinished projects from the past in his own work, he memorialized many anonymous quiltmakers. Paul gave license to adapt, improve upon, and complete many unfinished projects that would have eventually been lost forever.
His energy is what is so apparent in his quilts and although he is no longer with us, his spirit, boundless enthusiasm, encouragement, and joy live on through his quilts. His work is still teaching, which, of course, was his passion, along with collecting antique quilts."
