"In creating this quilt, I started to make a flower applique quilt and as often happens to me, I was not satisfied with the layout and decided to change my whole concept. I made a large feathered star center and placed various flower blocks around it. I added multiple borders and heavily hand quilted it. After various setbacks, changes, and running out of one fabric, this quilt was completed in a little over a year. Each quilt or wallhanging or challenge block I make, I find a new technique to try. This is what keeps quilting so interesting, satisfying and fulfilling. I only wish that I had started quilting earlier in my life."
