"In 1982 I decided I should start looking for another interest to occupy some of my time. My youngest boy was in high school so I could see that I would soon face the empty nest syndrome. I had always liked to sew, so when I read about a quilters’ guild being newly organized at the fabric store in the nearby town of Wahpeton, North Dakota, I decided to give it a try. I went to my first meeting and was hooked."
