"I started making this quilt six years ago for the wedding present of my beloved daughter. It took me about five years to complete. A double-wedding-ring quilt, in most cases, is made of a colorful trapezoid pattern. Instead, I used less colors and more of the whitish colors to emphasize the image of the wedding costume, and made 4,700 original round appliqué pieces that graduated from light to dark colors. On the border and in the ring patterns, I used a trapunto technique to express great depth and shade. The quilt was made primarily of cotton and in parts of the trapunto I used wool.
