What is black and white and read all over? To many the answer is a newspaper or book, but to Lois K. Ide, it was a quilt. In 1982, Lois sent fabric squares to men and women in the world of quilting and asked them to put their name, state, and what best represented them on the square. She got back far more than the 63 blocks which are included in this quilt. In addition, there are four legend blocks with information about the "Galaxy of Quilters." The block in the bottom right offers a "Salute to the hundreds of fine quilters who have not signed in!!!" Stars in the border list places that the quilt was exhibited before it came to The National Quilt Museum.
