"I grew up having a garden with fruit trees in Pomona, CA. Thanks to my family’s garden, my favorite childhood memories were picking fruit off the trees and eating them or making freshly squeezed lemonade on a summer day. For me, food is the bounty of the earth and the sweetness it provides. The city, Pomona, is named after the Roman goddess Pomona because the land provided great fruit harvests. I designed my interpretation of the Goddess of Pomona to honor all the farmers and harvesters that tend to the food we eat."
