"Appreciating the blessings of nature, I made this quilt while thinking about the origin of Thanksgiving." This quilt took Aki one and a half years to make. She designed it in sections, finishing one entirely before starting the next, and so the quilt was "always a mystery" for her as she progressed. Aki lived for two years in Ohio, United States, and this quilt, while mostly an homage to the holiday of Thanksgiving, includes a number of references to Japanese culture, including the folk tale of "Momotarō," a boy born from a peach, who can be seen near the bottom left corner of the quilt.
