"I don't make quilts for art's sake; I do make them for heart's sake. I selfishly achieve great satisfaction from designing quilts, choosing fabric, playing with it, hand quilting it, and seeing how the quilt turns out. I don't know if I'm scattered or eclectic, but I get my inspiration from many directions. My greatest achievement occurs when a person turns up who loves one of my quilts and then it becomes theirs. I'm a person who would be making quilts no matter where I happened to be or what might be going on around me--I make quilts because I can't help but do so. They give me great joy and I have the feeling that others delight in them also."
