"Inspiration for this quilt came from the 1988 Winter Olympics figure skating competition and the 1990 AQS Show theme – Fans. I’m not sure just when it occurred to me to combine the two ideas but what finally resulted was a play on the word fan. The people blocks were designed to represent the skater’s audience, her fans. This quilt is my song of joy."
